Apex was a male Megalodon and is the main antagonists of the 2023 film, Meg 2: The Trench.

Biography[]

Meg 2: The Trench[]

Apex first appears alongside Beta Meg in the Mariana Trench, while Jonas Taylor and Jiuming Zhang explore the trench. Despite being known formerly as the Alpha Meg, he was stated by Jonas to be the biggest Megalodon that was ever discovered and an apex predator. Scarface and his pack member encounter Haiqi, a female Megalodon. The Beta Meg try to mate with Haiqi but failed because of Scarface.

Moments later, when Jonas' team was attacked by Snappers while they trying to enter the underwater station, Jiuming activated a flare to lure the three Meg's attention. Apex and his pack coming to attack Jonas' team, but with Jonas' wit, he took Jiuming's flare and lured Apex into attacking the building instead, allowing them to survive. however As they were about to enter the seafloor station, Apex killed one of Jonas' crew, and he attempted to attack Jonas again, but failed, as Jonas and his team managed to enter the station.

After the station is destroyed, Jonas' submarine lures the trio of Meg into his pursuit. until they passed the thermocline layer successfully escaped from the trench.

Apex reappeared when he attacked the Mana One research station. He had broken a glass barrier to kill Jess. Even though the glass proved to be able to withstand the force of a Meg; he seemed to have enormous strength to break it. He killed the mercenaries; who were chasing Jonas while they were piloting the ship.

Later, the three Megs attack the beach and kill many of the tourists. Until Jonas and his team arrive on the island. Jonas drives a jet ski to lure Meg off the coast to allow tourists to migrate. Beta Meg and Apex chase Jonas, but they cannot kill Jonas due to his experience in slaughtering fought with Meg before. Jonas throws an explosive spear at Beta Meg, but that doesn't work. Because it was able to dodge his attack. Jonas was later attacked by Apex, which due to his large size cause the water wave. Jonas took that moment, where he was on a higher position than Meg due to the sea wave, throwing a second spear, just as the Beta Meg was leaping at him. The spear pierced its head and exploded, causing Beta Meg to die and eventually drowned into the sea.

After Apex loses his pack mate, he continues to chase Jonas until he returns to the beach. He destroys a wooden bridge in pursuit of Jonas; but fails as he is chained, allowing Jonas to escape again. Apex has returned once more. After the Montes's blood from Jonas' attack, Jonas kicked Montes into the water until he was eaten by Scarface.

In the end, Jonas used fragments of helicoptor blades to hit the water to lure Apex meg towards him. When the apex predator finally attacked him, Jonas used his helicopter blades to pierce the shark's mouth through to its brain. Scarface eventually died and drowned into the ocean.

Characteristics[]

Apex Meg A.K.A Scarface exhibits a distinctive scar on his mouth (which he likely got from a fight with another Meg), causing part of his jaw to be exposed through his upper lip.

Behavior[]

Scarface, the largest individual among the Megalodons, assumes a dominant role as the leader of the smaller two members within the pack, and he surpasses the other two in size. The presence of scars on his body suggests that he has likely encountered challenges, potentially from his own species in order to establish his leadership, or even from Kraken. Notably, upon the arrival of a female Megalodon, he promptly engages in mating behavior, even integrating her into the pack without delay.

Abilities[]

Scarface had demonstrated remarkable strength; by effortlessly breaking through a glass-proof barrier designed to withstand the force of a megalodon.

Scarface/Apex is 85 feet (26 meters) long, bigger than any other megalodon from both the books and films and weighing in at 2 million pounds (840,000 kilos) In real life, the megalodon was only half as large. Their size also depends on their gender; as female Megs grew to be bigger than males in order to give birth to large, well-developed offspring.
Scarface is based on the character of the same name from the books, but unlike his counterpart, is killed by Jonas Taylor instead of a Liopleurodon.
Scarface is the third megalodon that; was killed; by Jonas, the first being the original Meg and the second one is Beta Meg.
