The Liopleurodon is one of the main antagonists of MEG: Primal Waters, MEG: Hell's Aquarium, MEG: Nightstalkers, MEG: Generations, and MEG: Purgatory.
In ‘MEG: Hell’s Aquarium’ it revealed a species of liopleurodon has evolved to live in the Panthalassa sea. The Panthalassa species evolved to be 122 feet to survive megalodons, gills to survive in the sea, was warm blooded due to the temperature of its environment and had a lead-brown back to help it camouflage.

Michael Maren Told Jonas Taylor that he was studying ancient creatures that lived at the Philippine sea plate, he referring to the liopleurodon and other creatures that lived in the Panthalassa sea.
MEG: Hell's Aquarium[]
During the prologue when Scarface was swimming around the Philippine sea and found a tunnel that lead to the Panthalassa sea, an ancient sea beneath the Philippine sea plate, a liopleurodon came out and killed him. The liopleurodon is seen by David Taylor in the Panthallassa sea when it started feeding on a dead leedsichthys with other creatures. Later in the book, the liopleurodon gets into a fight with the megalodon, Angel over a dead mosasaurus. When Angel gets caught in a fishing net, the liopleurodon kills her. It then goes after David Taylor and his girlfriend, Kaylie and exits the Panthalassa sea. It kills Angel after she was trapped in a net and Kaylie along with the dead mosasaur at the surface of the Philippine sea then leaves. As a result; David enters a depression.
