Jiuming Zhang is the deuteragonist of the 2023 science fiction action film Meg 2: The Trench. He is the son of the late Minway Zhang, the brother of the late Suyin Zhang and the uncle of Meiying Zhang.

Jiuming was born in China to Minway Zhang and his wife. He was named after the sea and had a sister, named Suyin. As Jiuming grew up, he had a complicated relationship; with his father, on account of his rough parenting style. When he was eleven years old, Jiuming snuck outside of his house to go swimming with his friends on the rocky shores, getting cut his head cut and receiving nine stitches as a result. When he returned home, Jiuming was heavily disciplined; by his father for his actions, putting further strain on their relationship.
In Jiuming's adulthood, he would follow in Minway's footsteps and dedicated his career to the advancement of the marine sciences, earning degrees in multiple fields of study and starting his own deep-sea exploration company after college, wanting to move away from his father. At some point, Minway asks Suyin to deliver a calligraphy to her brother, which he would come to view as a mockery.
After a prehistoric Megalodon emerges from the depths of the Mariana Trench and causes Minway's death, Jiuming merged his company with his father's research institute and acquires the Mana One research station alongside wealthy financier Hilary Driscoll. Following the merger, the institute begins the development of special atmospheric diving suits for the purpose of mapping the trench's ocean floor and deep-sea extravehicular work. Jiuming also retrieved an injured Megalodon pup left over from the disaster and nurses it into adulthood at a reserve in Hainan, affectionately naming her Haiqi. When Suyin passes away due to unknown causes, Jiuming and his brother-in-law Jonas Taylor assume custody of her teenage daughter Meiying, looking after her in his sister's absence.
At some point, Driscoll discovers the existence of rare-earth element metals at the bottom of the Mariana Trench potentially worth trillions of dollars. Using Mana One's resources, she secretly organizes the construction of a fully-operational mining station within the trench and uses Jiuming's deep-sea diving suits to illegally harvest the minerals from the seabed in large quantities, sending them back up to the surface in pods. She hired a mercenary named Montes to protect the mining operation and authorizes him to do whatever is necessary to keep it under wraps, due to its devastating environmental impact on the trench.

- In the books, DJ is the younger brother of Terry Tanaka; who is Suyin's novel version. Therefore; it can also be assumed that; Jiuming is the younger sibling in the film adaption.
